Hi all,

Another week, another notes from the Section Chair. This week is all about updates.

You all should have gotten a note from the section Director of Fellowship about the planned summer and fall section picnic. Please make sure to send back updates from your chapter (or your alumni association) so that the information about the picnic can be distributed to your chapters before the close of the semester. I’m really looking forward to the picnics and getting a chance to really meet all of you at a nice, big, awesome time.

Second, Spring Youth Service Day is this weekend (April 24-26). More details about Spring Youth Service Day can be found at http://www.apo.org/show/National_Programs/Service/Programs/Spring_Youth_Service_Day Please also make sure to tell the national office with the details of your chapter’s awesome project by May 4 (the online form is available at the above link).

Speaking of forms, there are a number of other pieces of paperwork that need to be filed with the national office. Active applications should be submitted with the national office, and the graduating senior and the reporting new officers forms can be found on the national website.

Third, there are a couple of updates I have for national programs going on this summer. The first is the Membership academy. The Alpha Phi Omega Membership Academy is a hands-on weekend long skills training course designed to teach brothers in chapter membership operations. The cost for this course, which includes all course materials, two nights hotel stay, and all meals Saturday and breakfast Sunday, is just $35, and is being offered in Hartford, Connecticut June 12-14. The other national program going on this summer is SERVE. SERVE is a weekend experience giving participants the opportunity to learn skills needed to develop chapter management skills. There is a SERVE being offered in Chicago, IL from June 26-28, and Jacksonville, FL from July 24-26.
