Stuff About Service

I hope the semester has been going great for everyone so far. National Service Week is almost upon us and the theme this year is "Building a Sound Body." If you need any last minute help feel free to ask. The reporting is quite easy and can be done online on www.apo.org (remember, this submission is required in order to remain a chapter in good standing, as is the submission for Spring Service Day!)

Youth Service Grants are a great way for a chapter to raise money for chapter service events. All you need to do is tentatively plan out the details of a service event involving kids and submit a form to the National office (available off of apo.org, or ask me for a copy). If approved, you can receive quite a bit of funding to run your project. It's free money to run events you might normally be unable to host due to the cost.

Section Service Projects have become a yearly event for us, and EZ did a great job with their project at Lake George. If any chapter is interested in hosting a section-wide project in the upcoming year, just Let me know. It's quite a bit of fun, and it's another opportunity to hang out with other chapters and help run a large service event.

Lastly, Alison Parker is interested in becoming Service Coordinator soon, so she'll be asking around about service... be nice to her :-)

That's about all for now! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me!
