  • Congratulations to Kappa Phi for winning the fall 2004 conference bid!

  • Paperwork: Mike Haber
    • Mu Omicron, Xi Rho and Alpha Delta Eta have submitted charter reaffirmations with AAMDs - due November 15th for all chapters. If you haven't done so already, send them in!
    • Also due November 15th - Early bird registration for Nationals, you should go - it's fun!
      • Can see if your school has a leadership grant you can apply for to go
    • Sectionals is going on right now at Xi Rho!
    • Epsilon Zeta just held a section service project.
    • BLAZE held at Alpha Delta Eta over the summer.
  • Service: Ed Pollack
    • NSW "paper" work is due November 15th, can fill out the form on www.apo.org
    • April 16th-18th is Spring Service Day
    • Youth Service Grants - you can get money to do service projects! Find out more at www.apo.org
    • Thanks to Epsilon Zeta for doing the section service project.
    • Alison Parker is the new co-service coordinator.
  • Fellowship: Kat Westurn
    • Section Picnic
      • Where will you be next summer? Kat will try to plan around everyone's locations for the picnic.
      • May possibly be two picnics again if demand is high enough.
    • Amazing APO Race
      • Can join by contacting Kat: bestwesturn (at) yahoo (dot) com
      • Will be random challenges throughout the next two semesters
      • Great way to get to know other brothers from Section 88
      • "Section 88 is like a big bowl of fruit!"
    • Thanksgiving fellowship (in the making) for people who don't get to go home over Thanksgiving break
  • Leadership: Mike Jablon
    • Leadership development survey regarding the National Leadership Prep day is online at www.apo88.org. Please help Mike out by filling it out!
    • Can register for an APO-LEADS Launch online at www.apo.org - get your requests in early!
  • Nationals: Mike Haber
    • Voting delegates can expect free candy and toys!
    • Logistical issues to be aware of:
      • Craig Muckle is stepping down as Region Director
      • Spreee is going to run for Region Director!
        • Section 88 chairship doesn't expire until April 2005
        • If Spreee wins Region Director election:
          • Will appoint someone as a temporary chair until the election in April 2005
        • If Spreee doesn't win Region Director election:
          • Will complete his current 4th term as section chair.
          • Will run for a 5th term, but will be his last time running.
  • Alumni Relations: Rich Vehlow
    • Acts as a liaison between alumni and the section
    • Alumni are great to network with!
    • Encourages chapters to interact with their alumni (either by means of an alumni association or otherwise)
    • Contact him if you will be graduating and want to stay in touch with Section 88

  • ADH Regionals Bid: Mike Haber
    • One chapter usually doesn't do all the work
    • Alpha Delta Eta cannot do this alone, so please help them out!
    • Only regional bid that's likely to be presented at Nationals
    • Motion: for Section 88 to formally endorse the Regionals bid by Alpha Delta Eta
      • Unanimously passes
  • Extension: Mike Haber
    • Marist: Christine Rossman
      • Quite a few people are involved
      • Almost an interest group (just needs a go-ahead from the school)
    • Albany College of Pharmacy
      • College has increased size, so there are more people at the school who can be interested in APO
      • Pursuing options of joining APO
    • Sienna College
      • Response has been low
      • May not be pursued too vigorously at this time
  • Chapter Reports
    • Alpha Beta Chi
      • Boy Scout "scouting for food" for those less fortunate and soup kitchen. Has been selling angels for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
    • Kappa Phi
      • Lost lots of seniors. Finished a coin war and raised over $200 for charity! Helping out with Blood Drives. Recruiting new advisors. Helping out with the Girl Scouts.
    • Theta Kappa
      • 39 actives and 17 pledges! Blood drives and Habitat for Humanity. Soup kitchens, and helping with the MDA.
    • Alpha Delta Eta
      • Selling Girl Scout cookies, trick-or-treating for non-perishable food items. Regionals bid!
    • Epsilon Zeta
      • Section service project, orienteering with the Boy Scouts.
    • Xi Rho
      • Hosting Sectionals. Doing a variety show December 4th at 1pm for people with developmental disabilities. Go if you can and support your brothers and a good cause!
    • Mu Omicron
      • Semester ends in three weeks. Every Monday Schmoo making. Every Wednesday is movie night. Doing a Thanksgiving potluck dinner on November 21st.
